“The only thing that is constant is change.” – Heraclitus

“Change is difficult. Not changing is fatal.” – Unknown

“Adapt or die.” – PW Botha

Any of these quotes ring a bell? We’ve been talking about managing change for centuries, but it sometimes seems like implementing change successfully – and SUSTAINABLY — just keeps getting harder.

The fact is that EFFECTIVELY ENABLING CHANGE IS SIMPLE, but it’s not easy. Identifying everyone who has skin in the game, listening to their needs, and then setting accurate expectations takes time and energy, and sometimes it seems like the lists of requirements and risks and concerns will never end and you’ll never get around to actually delivering anything. It’s no wonder that so many organizations fall back on the “adapt or die” approach.

But the cost of that strategy in terms of employee morale is typically much higher than you anticipated and is quite often more than you can afford. While the change may be pushed through, it usually begins to unravel immediately, and reimplementing a failed change is infinitely harder than doing it right the first time.

Change isn’t easy, but it doesn’t have to be painful.

Believe it or not, there is a way to implement change in a successful and sustainable manner that actually IMPROVES employee engagement. So, if you’re implementing a new change, or you’re in the unfortunate position of having to tackle a change that has already failed, I’m here to help. Let’s work together on a game plan.
